Quail eggs make a nice change from the usual chicken eggs so go on, add some variety to your diet! Quail eggs have a host of benefits – all the same nutritional health benefits that come from eggs (in fact quail eggs may even be more nutritious) as well as the fact that often people with egg allergies are able to eat quail eggs. To order fresh quail’s eggs @ R3 per egg (trays of 13 or 24) please contact Freckled Eggs on 076 904 0500 or
Note from Ethical Suppliers: These are categorized as “Enclosed Outdoor Pasture” eggs, as free range on our
website means that the quails would be able to roam freely outside during the day (as our own chickens do), instead of being fenced in. But with that said, many people practice this kind of farming, and even Farmer Angus, respected farmer and activist in W Cape uses “egg-mobiles”. So there is a grey area when it comes to standards, and I think that the fact that farmer is transparent is what should really count for a lot, because at least the farm has nothing to hide and we an see that the birds have a lot of space and plenty of fresh air and sunlight.
